Studieren an der HMT Mobile Subjects

In the compulsory musicology/music theory modules (MWT code) of most Bachelor's degree programmes, there are mobile subjects that can be chosen relatively freely.
From the winter semester 2024/25, the mobile subjects have changed. Details can be found below.

In some Bachelor's degree programmes, the following mobile subjects are listed in the first basic module Musicology/Music Theory:

  • New Music/Contemporary Music
  • Musical Form (lecture)
  • Form analysis (seminar)
  • Improvisation

These four mobile subjects should be distributed over the basic and specialisation modules in Musicology/Music Theory (i.e. over 6 semesters), i.e. within the MWT modules only one mobile subject should generally be taken per module.

Important! The lecture ‘Form Theory’ must be completed before the seminar ‘Form Analysis’.

You can find more information in your degree programme-related module regulations.
