If you do not feel able to attend lessons on a particular day, please inform all teachers who are affected in good time.

In the event of illness lasting 3 working days or more, a sick note from a doctor must be submitted. Please send this as a PDF by email to the Student Secretariat.

You can make up for duly excused lessons by arrangement with your teachers. Unexcused absences are forfeited.

If the illness demonstrably lasts longer than 10 weeks of lessons per semester, you can apply for a semester of leave due to illness, even retrospectively.

Exemption from teaching

Exemption from teaching must be authorised by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies. Reasons for exemption may include:

• Participation in orchestra projects, performances
• Delay in obtaining a visa in the home country

The exemption should be applied for in good time by email to the Vice-Rector Dr Ute Fries. Proof/contracts must be enclosed as a copy.
