Studying at the HMT Application procedure

How does the
online application portal work?

Please register yourself first in the online application portal (if you are not yet enrolled at HMT Leipzig). You will receive your user name and choose your own password. Please make a note of this access data. If you are already enrolled or registered for this semester, please log in with these access data in the top right-hand corner.

 

With your access, you can now enter your application data in the online application portal. If you cannot find the degree programme you are looking for, it is unfortunately not currently offered.
You can submit a maximum of three applications in parallel in one admission procedure. The application fee only has to be paid once in each case. You will find the university's bank details and the deadline by which we expect your fully uploaded documents on your printed application form. Your application now has the status "in preparation".
 

Please do not fail to submit your application electronically via the "Submit application" button and print out the application form as a PDF document. As soon as your application has been successfully received in the online portal, you will receive the first notification by e-mail that your application status has changed to "received". Please always log in to the online application portal with your access data when you receive such a status message. For data protection reasons, we may only provide you with important information about your application via this channel.
 

Please upload the following documents as PDF files to the online application portal:

  • Your signed application form
  • Your CV and
  • Proof of the application fee*

In the terms of admission, you will find information on whether additional documents, such as videos, are required for your degree programme. You will find the end of the upload period on your application form.

 

*Applications for Wahlmodul-Nebenfach and for Grundschuldidaktik are free of charge

We will check your application formally and show you which documents are still expected to be uploaded on your study application page. If there are no formal reasons for exclusion (e.g. exceeding the age limits), we will put your application "in process". If everything is complete, you will receive a status message that your application is "valid" and can therefore take part in the procedure.

The examination committees will now view your videos and the portfolios or scores you have submitted. Based on the assessments given, you may unfortunately receive a rejection letter. In this case, your application will change to the status "Admission offer currently not possible". A retake of the entrance examination can usually only be realised the following year.
We send out invitations to the entrance examinations approximately three weeks before the planned examination dates.
 

Now you can come to our house in person. We have planned everything to ensure a smooth process and wish you every success in your entrance examination.

Approximately three weeks after all entrance examinations have been completed, we will publish the results of the presence entrance examinations in the online application portal. You will then receive a further status report by e-mail. If you have received an offer of admission, we would ask you to make your decision as soon as possible in the interests of those moving up.
You have the option of withdrawing your application during the entire admissions process. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that an unexcused absence from the presence entrance examination is considered a failed examination.
 

Please confirm your acceptance of the study place by clicking on the "Accept offer" button.
Then please start your online enrolment in the designated period by clicking on the
button "Apply for enrolment". To successfully complete this step, please upload the following documents as PDF files:

  • A-level certificate or last school certificate
  • Copy of your identity card or passport
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Signed enrolment application with your data protection declaration

This concludes the online application portal for you. You will change to "provisional student" status and will now receive new access data for your student account in the campus management system.
